A few insurance companies now offer policies that cover acupuncture. Please check with your provider to inquire about your coverage. If you believe your insurance or medical savings account may cover acupuncture, we can complete an insurance superbill form for you at the time of your visit, and you can submit the paperwork when you return home. PLEASE NOTE: Our treatments are all on a fee-per-session basis, so you will still need to pay in full at the time of your treatment. The insurance superbill will state that payment has been made, and it will include diagnostic codes and indicate that any insurance reimbursement should be sent directly to you, and not to our office.
When you phone your insurance company to inquire about coverage, let them know that I am Board Certified and Licensed in Wisconsin for the practice of acupuncture. If they say they will not cover your treatments, ask them if you would receive coverage with a doctor's script. Many times insurance companies will cover acupuncture visits if you have a doctor's script (though they may not tell you this unless you ask), and a visit to your doctor can be helpful if your insurance will assist you in treatment coverage. Typically, the doctor's scripts we receive are for 8-10 acupuncture sessions for conditions such as pain, arthritis, chemotherapy side effects, etc.
